Tulip

Tulip Est DOB 4/22/2018 Female Poodle Mix

Meet Tulip, a sweet girl who came to us after the commercial breeder she lived in closed down. She never received the care, socialization, or support every dog deserves, but she’s already showing us how much heart she has.

Tulip is shy with people, yet she allows gentle handling and will let you pick her up. With patience and kindness, she’s beginning to show curiosity toward the affection she’s getting from our staff and volunteers. Watching her discover that humans can be safe is incredibly rewarding. She is good with other dogs, but we are not totally sure about cats though.

She’ll need gentle guidance as she learns about life in a real home — things like housebreaking, normal household noises, and everyday activities such as a dishwasher running or a TV turned on. With time and reassurance, she’ll blossom.

At the sanctuary, Tulip is loving her new freedom and the comfort of being with other dogs. She’s sweet, soft‑natured, and has all the potential to become an amazing family member for someone who understands that progress comes in small, beautiful steps.

If you’re looking for a tender soul to nurture and celebrate as she grows, Tulip may be the perfect match.

* Would do best in a home with no small children

Medical Alert: During routine vetting, Tulip was found to be heartworm positive. She is currently receiving medications to slowly kill off the heartworms and is doing very well. Hope Rescues will continue to pay for the medical care associated with the heartworms until she tests negative.

🌸 Dahlia — A Gentle Soul Learning to Bloom

Meet Dahlia, a beautiful 2‑year‑old Havanese/Poodle mix weighing about 10–12 lbs. She was rescued from a commercial breeder, so the world is still a very big, very unfamiliar place to her. Dahlia is shy and easily overwhelmed, but beneath that fear is an incredibly sweet, gentle girl who wants to trust.

Even when she’s scared, Dahlia has never tried to bite. She’ll let you pick her up, hold her close, and reassure her that she’s safe. With patience, kindness, and a predictable routine, she will continue to blossom.

Dahlia would do best in a calm home with another friendly dog who can help her learn that life isn’t so scary after all. She’s great with other dogs, and while we’re not sure about cats, her soft temperament suggests she may adjust with slow introductions.

Because she’s timid and sensitive, Dahlia would thrive in a home without young children.

If you’re looking for a tender, quiet companion who just needs someone to show her what love feels like, Dahlia is ready to start her new chapter.

Gertie

Gertie DOB 5/6/2016 Female Basset Hound Mix

Gertie is a basset hound with a big personality and even bigger opinions. At 9 years old, she’s got her routines down pat—and she’s not afraid to let you know what she wants. Whether it’s her favorite chair, a beloved toy, or a cozy corner, Gertie believes in claiming her throne and guarding it with gusto.

But don’t let her sass fool you—Gertie has an adorable side that wins hearts fast. She’ll trot after a tennis ball with surprising enthusiasm, flash you her goofy grin, and melt into a cuddle when the mood strikes. She’s happiest when she’s the center of attention and would thrive as your one-and-only dog.

Because Gertie has somewhat aggressive manners and can be protective of her space and belongings, she’s looking for a home without young children (15+ only) and without other pets and preferably someone with training experience. She needs an adopter who understands boundaries, respects her quirks, and can offer her a calm, structured environment where she can feel safe and loved.

Gertie’s not for everyone—but for the right person, she’s everything. If you’re ready to welcome a strong-willed sweetheart into your life, Gertie’s waiting to meet you.

Regal Beagle

Regal Beagle DOB 3-22-2016 Male Beagle - Hello future forever family! My name is Regal Beagle and I'm obviously the cutest Beagle you've ever seen!

Since I haven't met my forever family yet, I am quite shy and timid, but have come a long way! My ideal home would have a calm canine friend, to help show me how great a family can be. I've also met a cat and didn't mind her at all. Once I find my ideal spot in your home, you may find me enjoying your favorite TV show. I've had a hard time trusting people, but I now enjoy sitting beside someone and being pet. I have not yet realized how great cuddling is, but with some help, I know I will learn to love it.

My favorite activity is going on walks, or simply being outside. Sometimes I even get the zoomies and run circles around the yard! When I'm in a strange place, like Petco, I look to my foster dad for reassurance. And when I'm in the home, I look to my foster mom for comfort. If you think you could be my new favorite people, and would like to meet me, please fill out an on-line application.
