Dory - DOB 7/30/2011
Okay, first and most importantly, look how stinkin' cute my ears are! My name is Dory, I'm a Blue Pittie gal that was approx born in July of 2011, and I love all people including kids! I came to the sanctuary with my sister, Jewell, because my first family had domestic violence issues and called some people to confiscate us because our first home was so bad. The people that took us almost had to euthanize us, but Hope Animal Rescues took us for a car ride to come to the sanctuary just in time! I've been here for a while, but I think that's only because my sister and I wanted to go to the same home; I loved her so much! My sister passed away at the beginning of 2023 and I was sad, but the people here are giving me more lovin's than I usually get, and they made it all better. I'm still not sure how it's possible to get MORE lovin's than I did before; I got lovin's a lot! A long time ago, in 2019, I had a rectal tumor removed and they biopsied it and said it was Colorectal Adenocarcinoma. They got it out super quick and I haven't had any problem since! I'm back to being the happy girl I always was and I'm ready to take naps on the couch, in my own home, with my very own family. My favorite thing is food time! You should see me gallop around before I sit and they pour my food in the bowl! When I have an itch I get all wound up, lay on my back, and then fail around like a fish out of water and my people friends always laugh. Laying on top of you to cuddle and get pet is ALWAYS a good day. I get along with dogs, but I prefer if they don't try to rough-house with me. I've always been nice to the cat I met, but she isn't a fan that I run after her; I'm getting much better with this though. Oh, and before I go, I want to let you in on a little secret! When it's not even that cold outside, I pretend I'm shivvering after I go potty so they let me back in right away. I get called dramatic, but I sure have these people trained! I'm a super easy-going gal, so come meet me if you have something soft for me to lay on at home! to date.
