Cleopatra

Cleopatra Est DOB 4/4/2023 Female Shepherd Mix

Cleopatra is a beautiful girl. She is a little shy at first but she has been through a lot of changes in the last few weeks.. She comes around very quickly, especially with treats and soon becomes your best friend. She is sweet, playful, good with the other dogs she has met here (not sure about cats) and loves attention.

Corona "Cora"

Corona “Cora” DOB 6/7/2020 Female Heeler Mix.

Corona is super sweet, she is good with kids, cats and some dogs. She likes to play tug-of-water and will run after a tennis ball but hasn’t quite gotten the concept of bringing it back to you. She will be an amazing new family member for most families.

Chelsey

Chelsea is a female Husky DOB 10-9-2010. She is much smaller than most Huskies and was used as a breeder her whole life. She is shy, but never aggressive, and is starting to like this new life and the attention that comes with it. But because of her shyness, she would do better in a home with no small children. She walks very nicely on a leash, does not bark a lot, and is just so very sweet.

Chelsey was recently diagnosed with mammary cancer.

Alex & BG - - Adopted

On Tuesday January 2, 2019 one of our long term volunteers lost his battle with ALS.
He left behind his 2 Very much loved dogs. We would like to find a hospice foster ( Hope pays for medical) for them for what ever time they have left.
We do not want to separate them after all they have been through.
BG is the Shepherd looking one, she is 13 and in good health.
Alex is the Rottweiler, he is 10 and does have some hip issues but otherwise also in good health.
They are both well mannered, very easy dogs to care for.
PLEASE help by opening your home to these deserving dogs. It is Pat's last wish .

Ruby Roo

Ruby Roo DOB 12/15/10 Female Boxer.  She is very active and loves to play fetch.  She does not do well with other dogs or small animals so it is best that she be an only pet.  She does have a special diet of Purina ONE Smartblend True Instict, canned pumpkin and yogurt with a morning Pepcid. Yes, she is spoiled.. :) ** Ruby did suffer a stroke in December of 2021, she is doing well but still has some small ambulatory issues.

Ruby Roo is sponsored by Tammy Roettgers in Memory of her Aunt Beverly Tucker.

Tigress

tigress2.jpg

Tigress DOB 1/22/2011 Blue Healer female. Her owner was admitted into a nursing home that does not allow dogs so now she finds herself homeless. She is blind so she will be scared and reactive for the first couple weeks to get use to her new surroundings but once she is acclimated she is such a sweet girl.  She likes belly rubs too,. She has been fine with other dogs, doesn't really play so she would not like a young dog constantly bugging her to chase them.  A nice senior female would be perfect for her if she could pick her person out herself that is what she would choose. She is a very good dog and calm easy going girl.

Terry

Terry - DOB 12/21/2009 Female American Staffordshire Terrier.

Terry was rescued from Chicago Animal Control where she had been dumped by her owner, most likely because she was going to have puppies.  She came to us scared and shy, with not much trust of people at all. But even with all of her fears she never showed any aggression toward us.  A couple weeks after rescue she gave birth to 10 puppies, those puppies were not born healthy thanks to everything mommy had been through and four passed away.

Today Terry is a very sweet and gentle soul, She would do best as an only pet so she can enjoy all of the attention for herself. And because of her insecurities she needs a home with no children. Terry is truly a calm and loving soul who would thrive in a quiet home where she could lounge on the sofa, watch TV, gaze out the window watching the birds or curl up next to you as you read her a good book.
