Squiggy Est DOB 1/10/2023 Male Heeler Mix
Squiggy is an adorable Heeler mix pup. He loves everyone he meets, is good with other dogs (not sure about cats). He is sweet, friendly, playful (loves chasing a ball) happy pup. He does well with car rides, is currently learning simple commands and leash walking.
Squiggy will be a wonderful addition to almost any home.
Folgers - DOB 1/20/2022 Male - Pitt Bull Mix
Folgers is a adorable, sweet, friendly boy. He is good with other dogs. He is young so he will need an active family who likes to play and go for walks.
Batman DOB 10/10/2010 male Chihuahua.
Batman is confused… He was adopted in 2011 and was dearly loved by his owner for 9 years… but his owner was recently sent to a nursing home and he was sent to the humane society. Thanks to his microchip we were notified so we could go and rescue him again. Batman is a sweet, calm and loving boy who is looking for a family to love. He is very good with other dogs, pretty sure he would do fine with cats. So if you have a small spot on your couch that is currently empty and needs to be filled with a loving and sweet four legged friend… Call Batman.
On Tuesday January 2, 2019 one of our long term volunteers lost his battle with ALS.
He left behind his 2 Very much loved dogs. We would like to find a hospice foster ( Hope pays for medical) for them for what ever time they have left.
We do not want to separate them after all they have been through.
BG is the Shepherd looking one, she is 13 and in good health.
Alex is the Rottweiler, he is 10 and does have some hip issues but otherwise also in good health.
They are both well mannered, very easy dogs to care for.
PLEASE help by opening your home to these deserving dogs. It is Pat's last wish .
Marco is a very well mannered 3 year old American Staffordshire terrier male. He was the favorite at a local animal shelter but they are not no kill and his time was running out so we took him in to keep him from running out of time. He is friendly, house trained, good with big dogs, loves all people and ready for life.
Rocky DOB 6/22/2011 is a Boxer mix male who was rescued from a horrible life. He was abused and neglected and has some scars from that both physically and emotionally. Rocky has a limp that is permanent from his abuse. He loves most other dogs and plays well with them. He is shy with strangers at first. He is knee high and chunky.
Oso is a 8 year old Golden Retriever/Sheltie mix male. Oso is house trained, walks well on his leash, and only weighs 32 lbs. Oso being of the herding breed needs a strong owner with no small children in the famly. If you are not consistent with him he will be hard to handle. Oso has been going to daycare and plays well with every dog we have introduced him to, he is handled in doggie daycare by both males and females and does well with both. Oso was rescued on his last day of life from animal control. We know that his previous owner was male and he does tend to listen better to males than females, but he can be a great dog for anyone who understand the herding breeds personality. This guy is super cute, and just a great little guy.
Zuccotti is a Tibetan Terrier mix male about 2 years old. He was rescued from Animal Control in Chicago.

Rango is a 9 year old Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix. He was rescued on what was to be his last day of life at Jefferson County Missouri Animal Control. They had him listed as people aggressive, but upon our observations we found that he is a typical Chihuahua type dog, and you have to bring more than just you to win him over, he prefers Beggin' strip bribes. Once you make friends he is a bundle of playful, adorable little buddy personality. He is a nice dog who was nearly passed over by everyone because no one tried to figure out what breed he was and if his behavior was typical of that breed. Rango weighs just under 11 lbs. He is house trained, and well mannered in the home.
Blazer is a 10 year old male Jack Russell mix. He had a family, but then they had kids, and he was not properly socialized around children before the family decided to have them so he did not do well. He is afraid here, but sweet after a treat or two. He is house trained, and would do best in a home with adults only. It is not his fault that he wound up homeless, and we are sure that he will be the perfect pet for the right family. Blazer weighs 15 lbs
Oreo is a Chihuahua mix male about 8 years old. He was saved on his last day of life from animal control. He had been picked up as a stray and even though his owners found him there they never came to pick him up. We think Oreo had a very rough life before coming to us and can be bitey and so he would do best with a family with no children. He likes some other dogs and is house trained.
